GWALDHAM is located 98kms away from CHAMOLI, GWALDAM is established above sea level at 1,708 meters and is also called as little paradise in the woods. It is a small beautiful town and hill station located between GARHWAL and KUMAON regions. The GWALDAM town is situated in CHAMOLI district of UTTARAKHAND and is amid by pine trees and apple orchards with the PINDAAR LAKE flowing through it.
The location of GWALDAM represents thrilling view of great HIMALAYAN peaks TRISHUL, NANDA DEVI and NANDA GHUTI. This small town is well known for an SSB training region situated in the central part of this place. The people of GWALDAM are basically from GARHWALI and KUMAUNI cultures.

1. BAIJNATH TEMPLE –
An ancient town of BAIJNATH, located around 20 km from KAUSANI is a place adorned with several small and big temples each holding a historic and religious importance.
Once served as the capital of KATYURI Dynasty, the BAIJNATH Temple was constructed during the 12th century and as per the legend Lord Shiva and PARVATI were married here at the confluence of River GARUR Ganga and River GOMTI. Other temples present here are Brahma, Shiva, PARVATI, Ganesh, KUBER and Surya Temple etc.
2. KAUSANI TEA ESTATE –
This is a place where one will feel very close to nature and a paradise for tea lovers. KAUSANI Tea Estate, situated 5 km away from the main town is spread across the area of 208 hectares.
The place also arranges for a short tour to show their manufacturing process guided by their own staff. One can taste and buy different flavoured tea from there. Apart from it is an amazing location where you can stroll but take care not to visit here from November to March, when it remains closed.
3. BAGESHWAR TEMPLE –
BAGESHWAR derives its name from BAGNATH, a famous temple in this region. Every year BAGNATH attracts thousands of pilgrims from all over as it is believed that lord SHIVA wandered here as a tiger. The popular UTTARAYANI fair is held every year in January in BAGESHWAR.BAGESHWAR is situated 34kms from GWALDHAM at a confluence SARYU and GOMATI River and it is new district headquarters and centre of administration of DANAPUR.
4. BEDNI BUGYAL – ROOPKUND -
BEDNI BUGYAL is a meadow of lush green grass and ROOPKUND is a mysterious lake, the trek of these places are considered to be one of the most adventures treks of UTTARAKHAND. Snow Capped Himalayan peaks are always visible during the trek. MANDOLI is the village from where the famous trek to BEDNI BUGYAL and ROOPKUND starts.
5. KARNAPRAYAG –
Located at an elevation of 788mts above sea level, KARNAPRAYAG is one of the five confluences of ALAKNANDA River where it meets with PINDER River coming from KUMAON region. An ancient temple dedicated to lord KARNA of MAHABHARAT is also situated here. KARNAPRAYAG is located on the road to BADRINATH at a distance of 68kms from GWALDHAM. KARNAPRAYAG possess natural bounteousness with lush green mountains, white gushing river and picturesque excursions
6. CHUKORI –
Field of ripening corn, fruit orchard and tall pine, oak and rhododendron tree are a common sight at CHAUKORI.CHAUKORI is an altitude of 2010mts, and boast of grandiose of CHAUKHAMBHA to PANCHAULI peaks.

By Air: The nearest airport is Pant Nagar Airport which some 205 km away from GWALDAM. One can easily get a cab or catch a bus for GWALDAM at the airport.

By Rail: The nearest railway station is at KATHGODAM. One can easily get a cab or catch a bus for GWALDAM from the railway station.

By Road: GWALDAM is well connected by motor-able roads to all the major cities and towns of UTTARAKHAND. Public and private buses regularly connect the GWALDAM to other major parts of the state.
