Milam Glacier Trek is a gateway to explore the beauty of UTTARAKHAND. Milam Glacier is the largest glacier of KUMAON covering an area of 37 sq. km. Milam Glacier is one of the distant yet accessible glaciers of UTTARAKHAND. The base camp for this 16km long glacier is at MUNSIYARI.
Milam Glacier is situated at the foundation of Mount TRISHULI (7065mts). The trail to Milam Glacier goes through forests, waterfalls, villages, chunks of ice, wooden bridges. Facilities regarding food, porters and guides can be done from MUNSIYARI. Milam Glacier is perched at an elevation of 3438mts above sea level, 60kms beyond MUNSIYARI. Milam Glacier is one the remotest yet accessible glacier trek in all of UTTARAKHAND. The vastness of peaks of HARDEOL (7,151m), MANGRAON (6,568 m), and DEO DAMLA (6,637 m), and SAKRAM (6,254 m) can be experienced from the Milam glacier. The glacier itself is the source of the GORIGANGA River which is an important tributary of Kali River.

Milam Glacier originates from GORI Ganga River which acts as a major branch of Kali River. Milam Glacier is situated 60kms from MUNSIYARI. The trek to Milam glacier offer mesmerizing Himalayan views that takes one through verdant meadows, lush green valleys, waterfalls, pine forests and isolated hamlets to reach Milam glacier.
The trek is long, tiring and adventurous and thus categorized at moderate level. The trek includes moderate walks to cross the hills, walk along with the GORI Ganga River and rugged terrains. The track offers mesmerizing views of charming villages, lovely streams, waterfalls and snowy Himalayas. Route to Milam glacier has several outlook points offering panoramic vistas of mountains, friendly people, varied flora and fauna and green vistas.

By Rail: KATHGODAM railway station NAINITAL is 297Km from JOSHIMATH and 273Km from MUNSIYARI. You will be trekking to Milam Glacier from MUNSIYARI.

By Road: JOSHIMATH and MUNSIYARI both places are well connected to other parts of UTTARAKHAND through roadways. Your trek will begin from MUNSIYARI or JOSHIMATH.
