1.VASUKI TAL TREK –
The 8 km swift trek to VASUKI Tal starts from the holy KEDARNATH temple in RUDRAPRAYAG district. The trail takes you through a cocktail of nature’s glory and later opens up to the view of the colossal VASUKI Tal. The crystal clear water penetrating through the bottom of the VASUKI Tal and SONGANGA, a tributary of MANDAKINI River originating from the VASUKI Tal is a gorgeous view to savour.
2.TREK TO GANDHI SAROVAT OR CHORABARI TREK –
CHORABARI TAL is cradled on the snout of CHORABARI BAMAK Glacier. A meandering 4 km trail starting from KEDARNATH will make you reach the jade blue CHORABARI Tal also known as KANTI SAROVAR. The lake is sometimes referred to as 'GANDHI SAROVAR' as Mahatma Gandhi’s ashes were immersed in the lake in 1948.
3.CHOPTA- TUGNATH -CHANDRASHILA TREK –
One of the popular treks of GARHWAL region, the CHOPTA-TUNGNATH-CHANDRASHILA trek is a 4.5 km mild trek that starts from the hushed village of CHOPTA. The trek blesses you with the views of TUNGNATH temple considered as the highest Shiva shrine in the world. From CHANDRASHILA one can relish the lustrous views of the majestic Himalayan peaks such as CHAUKHAMBA, TRISHUL and Nanda Devi etc.
4.TREK TO MADHYAMAHESHWAR TEMPLE-
A moderate 16 km trek to MADHYAMAHESWAR begins from the minion RANSI village. The trek to MADHYAMAHESHWAR that literally suggests ‘The Drunken God’ is easy to up to BANTOLI but from BANTOLI to MADHYAMAHESHWAR there is a steep ascent.
5.TREK TO BHAIRAV TEMPLE, KEDARNATH -
Situated only 1 km from KEDARNATH shrine, BHAIRAV temple also known as BHAIRON BABA MANDIR is a moderate trek that can be also commenced by the beginners. One can savour the mesmerizing views of the colossal KEDAR valley from here. Many pilgrims who visit KEDARNATH temple don’t forget to pay obeisance at the BHAIRAVNATH temple.
6.TREK TO KALPESHWAR TEMPLE –
Tucked at 2,134 metres above sea level near URGAM Valley in CHAMOLI district, KALPESHWAR can be easily reached by commencing an easy 11 km trek from HELANG. KALPESHWAR is the last temple on the list of PANCH KEDAR pilgrimage circuit that remains open throughout the year.
7.SARI VILLAGE TO DEVRIYA TREK –
The emerald DEORIA Tal or DEVARIYA Tal is a tranquil lake located near the tiny hamlet of CHOPTA. Perched at an elevation of 2,300 metres, DEVARIYATAL can be reached by initiating a 3 km uphill trek from Sari village. DEORIYATAL is also a perfect place for overnight camping.
8.TREK TO ANUSUYA DEVI MANDIR/ATRI MUNI ASHRAM TREK –
Situated near GOPESHWAR town, the ANUSUYA DEVI Temple can be reached by commencing a brisk 5 km trek from MANDAL village. If you want to visit the Ashram of ATRI Muni, the husband of ANUSUYA DEVI then trek 2 km further from ANUSUYA DEVI temple.
9.RUDRANATH TEMPLE TREK –
A moderate 20 km trek to RUDRANATH temple starts from the SAGAR village located at a distance of 3 km from GOPESHWAR. The trail passes through the dense thickets and deep gorges that later opens up to the awe-inspiring views of Nanda Devi, TRISHUL and Nanda GHUNTI Peaks. On reaching here you can bask at the VAITRANI riverside and enjoy the therapeutic music of the river.
