A British educationist, Late Mr Francis Russell Marshall a person of high repute in the field of child education and development of integrated personality, founded Marshall School in 1967.Being the product of the British Public School systems and a close friend of Pt Jawaharlal Nehru, Mr Marshall wanted the school to set up on the lines of Public Schools to suite the indian conditions. For that reason, he found Dehradun to be an ideal place, where he made a humble start with only five students.
That time for various reasons and paucity of required funds this temple of education could not reach it’s desired size and eminence during his life time. However, Mr Marshall did not fail to find a name as his successor who surmounting all the difficulties had intrigues of the inheritance paved the way for a modern spacious and ever growing public institution.
