Panwali Kantha Trek
Perched at a height of 11,500 FT in the GARHWAL Himalayas, the meadows of PANWALI KANTHA are known for their breath taking views of the rare CHAR DHAM mountain ranges. With the arrival of summer, the snows melt and the flowers and herbs blossom forth to carpet the PANWALI KANTHA meadow. Given its moderate level of challenge, anyone with a normal fitness can do this trek.
You can reach the place from GHUTTU and from SONPRAYAG too. If you start it from GHUTTU, the route will end at TRIYUGI Narayan. However, excessive snowfall in the route during winter indicates to avoid this route for that time.
PANWALI KANTHA is a pleasant trek route that stays similar with different beauties in various seasons. It offers splendid flowery vistas and phenomenal beauty can be experienced in the winters. Amazing emerald rampant and meadows of alpine and deodar are there for you in the monsoon, whereas the hilly surface with snow engulfs in winter to give your eyes an incredible pleasure. This is the trek spot, where routes are not definite.

Meadows or BUGYAL S as it is mentioned in their local dialect, are alpine pasture lands found at an elevation of 3,300 m to 4,000m in the Himalayan region of UTTARAKHAND state. During the spring season, the sloped and flat meadows are enveloped with emerald grass or seasonal alpine flora. It is the favourite grazing ground for the cattle of tribal herdsman.
