RAJAJI National Park varies for its pristine scenic beauty and rich bio-diversity. A paradise for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts, the wildlife of the park is blessed with elephants, tigers, leopards, DEERS and GHORALS as its best known life forms. Three sanctuary in the UTTARAKHAND, SHIVALIKS - RAJAJI, MOTICHUR and CHILA were joined together into a group in a larger protected area and named RAJAJI National Park in the year 1983 after the famous freedom fighter Late Sri C. RAJGOPALACHARI; popularly known as "RAJAJI".
This area is the North Western Limit of Asian elephants. Spread over an area of 820.42 sq.km, RAJAJI is an amazing ecosystem nestled in the SHIVALIK ranges and the beginning of the vast Indo–GANGETIC plains, thus symbolizing vegetation of several distinct zones and forest types like SAL forests, REVERINE forests, board–leaved mixed forests, scrubland and grassy. It possess as many as 23 species of mammals and 315 bird species. The abundance of nature’s bounties heaped in and throughout this park, are bound to attract a large number of wildlife and nature lovers and environmental friendly to visit this most awful wilderness area.
RAJAJI National Park has recently received the status of a Tiger Reserve by the Government of India. Named in the honour or C. RAJAGOPALCHARI, this national park spreads over 3 districts of UTTARAKHAND including DEHRADUN, HARIDWAR and PAURI GARHWAL. This area is also enriched with valuable fossils which date back to as old as 10 million years old. The forest area is popular for Sal, Teak and other shrubs. You should explore the wilderness and rich diversity of Himalayan lives here with a Jeep Safari or Elephant Safari organised by the Forest Department.

1.JUNGLE SAFARI –
Jeep and Elephant safaris along the 34 km jungle track are a major attraction here. You can make out sights for Asian Elephants, Tiger and King Cobra, Panther, Bear, Chital, SAMBAR, Wild Boar, KAKAR, Python, Monitor Lizard, Wild Cats.
You can also view many birds inclusive of many species of migratory birds, especially after monsoons. Adventurous tourists can venture out for Jeep Safaris and Elephant Safaris in the 34 km long tracks of RAJAJI National Park. One can make an incredible safari trip through hilly terrains, lusting greenish valleys and plains, undulating forest tracks, vegetated river beds, thick and dense forest lands and unexplored sprawling grasslands. During the safari one can catch sights of many wild animals including Asian Elephants, Tiger and King Cobra, Panther, Bear, Chital, SAMBAR, Wild Boar, KAKAR, Python, Monitor Lizard, Wild Cats. You can also spot many birds and distinctive species of different plants, shrubs and trees.
1.JUNGLE SAFARI -
RAJAJI Tiger Reserve is second tiger reserve in UTTARAKHAND after Jim Corbett and home to numerous species of animals like Bengal tiger, Asian elephant, leopard, sloth bear, Himalayan Black Bear, King Cobra, Jackal, Barking Deer, SAMBHAR, goral to name a few.
2.BIRD WATCHING -
Along with the animals, there are more than 300 species of birds both resident and migratory including great pied hornbill, pied kingfisher, fire tailed sunbird, kingfisher, pheasants and barbers along with several other bird sanctuary species.
By Air: Taxi services are available from airport to RAJAJI National Park and it costs about INR 600.Nearest airport is JOLLYGRANT which is 21 km away from RAJAJI National Park and is situated in Dehradun. JOLLYGRANT airport, Dehradun is well connected to Delhi airport Delhi is the nearest international airport which is 223 km away. Delhi is well connected to all major cities in India and many cities abroad.
By Rail: This station is connected to all cities in India. Taxi services are available from Dehradun to RAJAJI National Park, costing about INR 500.Nearest railway station is HARIDWAR, which is just 43 km away from RAJAJI National park. Dehradun is the major rail junction nearby, situated at a distance of 21 km from RAJAJI National Park.
By Road: Private and public buses offer services from RAJAJI National Park to HARIDWAR (43 km), RISHIKESH (14 km), Dehradun (21 km) and also to Delhi (223 km). RAJAJI National park is well connected to many cities in the region by buses.
